Studio 4A Games confirmed on the Metro game page on Twitter that the game has sold 10 million copies, marking the 5th anniversary of the game’s release.
The studio confirmed that the game will return as a virtual reality game titled Metro Awakening sometime in 2024, and also confirmed that the new part of the game is still under development within the studio, and will be released when it is ready.
