Microsoft and Activision Blizzard were tight-lipped and unclear about the role of Bobby Kotick, CEO of the company, in the event of the acquisition, and here we are getting an official announcement after the acquisition deal was completed earlier today.
Bobby Kotick will continue his work as CEO of the company until the end of this year and his official departure date from the company is January 1, 2024, after he agreed to assist the company in this transition period and will communicate directly with Phil Spencer during this process.
Kotick was CEO of Activision from 1991 until 2008, then became CEO of Activision BlizzaRD after completing the acquisition with Vivendi Games, until now.
