Reliable media and leaker Tom Henderson's sources have indicated that the multiplayer extraction game that Ubisoft is working on for the Far Cry series under the temporary title Maverick has been rebooted, meaning that it has been reworked from scratch.

This project was a multiplayer experience for the seventh Far Cry before it was transformed into a separate project in early 2023, but after Ubisoft reviewed the project, work was restarted from scratch, with sources indicating that this was clearly evident, especially after the team working on it was assigned to work on the Blackbird project, which is the next narrative experience in the Far Cry universe, and the team was transferred to this project at the end of last December.
