List of Famitsu sales for the period January 29 – February 4, 2024


The Japanese sales monitoring agency Famitsu/Interburn issued its weekly report, and the sales results for (hardware/games) were as follows:

The Nintendo Switch returns to the top of device sales in Japan, not because of the increase in its sales, but because of the decline in sales of the PlayStation 5. The Switch was able to sell more than 41 thousand units this year, a decline from last year for the same period in which it sold more than 55 thousand units. In total, the device’s sales during The month of January had half its sales as January of last year, yet it is the best-selling device this year.

Hardware sales

PlayStation 5, despite the release of a number of powerful games this week, the device’s sales witnessed a significant decline to more than 34 thousand units sold only. For comparison, the device was selling 93 thousand units in the same period last year. Also, in general, the device’s sales in January of this year were much less than Last year, the Xbox Series maintained sales of more than 3,000 units.

A number of new releases changed the list’s appearance significantly this week. Persona 3 Reload tops the list with more than 116 thousand copies sold between the two versions of the PlayStation devices. Granblue Fantasy Relink achieved a good opening with more than 70 thousand copies sold between its two versions on the PlayStation devices as well.

An average opening for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash and Shiren the Wanderer exceeded the 100,000 copies sold mark. The usual Switch games are not on the list this week.
