CD Projekt RED announced some additions and reinforcements to its ranks, in preparation for Project Orion and its entry into the actual development phase. Orion is the second part of the game Cyberpunk 2077. It was previously confirmed that it is in the “conceptual design” phase, and it is now in the early stages of development at CD Projekt. RED North, headquartered in Boston, USA. Gabriel Amatangelo serves as the game’s director.
New developers joining the team include veterans such as executive producer Dan Hernberg, who previously served as chief production officer at Blizzard Entertainment; Design Director Ryan Barnard, who was previously a game director at Ubisoft Massive and gameplay director at IO Interactive; and engineering director Alan Villani, who served as VP of Technology at WB Games (whose work includes “several” games and parts of the Mortal Kombat fighting series).
After serving as narrative lead on Fable, Anna Megill has joined as head writer. Her other writing credits include Control, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and more. Alexander Freed, who served as a senior writer at BioWare, will also “support” the project’s writing. In addition to his experience in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
