Journalist Jason Schreier indicated in a new report that Embracer Group had canceled the new project for the Deus Ex title, which had spent about two years in the development process at Eidos Montreal and was soon to enter the production phase, with the confirmation that the development team would suffer from layoffs.
According to Schreier’s sources, the team will now be working on a completely new project, and this is the first time we have heard about a new part of Deus Ex being under development after the Mankind Devided version failed to achieve the commercial performance hoped for by Square Enix, which owned the title and the development team at the time.
