CaptureGRID is a digital photography application for connected shooting, remote capture, and advanced camera control.
Multi-camera management allows you to fully control and synchronize all your cameras at the same time, including camera settings, launch, live view, photo upload, and file name management.
Network operation on several computers allows you to increase the number of cameras and organize large multi-camera capture installations.
Supported Cameras
CaptureGRID supports all current Canon and Nikon DSLRs, as well as select cameras from the Sony Alpha line. We update the app regularly so support for new cameras is added as they hit the market.
The software uses a wired USB connection to communicate directly with the cameras using our custom built PTP module. This ensures reliable camera control and fast photo uploads.
Supported Computers
The software also supports a wide range of hardware and can be adapted to make optimal use of available hardware resources. This means it can even run on single board computers like the Raspberry Pi, as well as scale up and take advantage of high performance multi-core PC workstations.
Network operation
CaptureGRID allows you to connect and control a large number of cameras by sharing USB connections between multiple computers. This means that the number of cameras is not limited by the USB hardware capabilities of a single computer, but can instead be increased by adding more computers.
When all computers are connected and synchronized, the user can control the application from only one of the computers in order to get a single view of all cameras and photos and be able to perform actions on all cameras at the same time.

CaptureGRID gives you precise control over what happens to your photos. Once captured, photos can either be saved to a memory card, automatically downloaded to a computer, or both.
If your cameras are spread across multiple computers, the software allows you to transfer photos over the network and collect them in one place, ready for the next step in your workflow.
Managing File Names
The application will manage the file names assigned to each photo based on which camera it was taken with and can automatically organize them into subfolders.
This mechanism can be easily customized to match the file naming scheme required by the processing workflow.
